Increase Footfall For Local Cafe

A small cafe in the heart of Somerset opens 6 days a week with good footfall throughout most days. They offer coffee, cakes and small snacks in an inviting, warm environment. Looking for ways to improve footfall during quiet periods.

Our Approach

We first established the days and periods the cafe is quiet and look at what type of audience would best suit these times. We worked with the client to look at sales figures and use their depth of knowledge of existing customers to make sure we create a campaign that reaches the right audience.

Outcome: During our research we established that stay at home mums are an ideal target audience for the campaign. Wednesday was the quietest period so we looked to improve the footfall during this time. The campaign we decide upon was to provide entertainment and a temporary child care professional to entertain the children while the mums could benefit from a relaxing cup of coffee while their children were entertained.

What we did

  • Establish the objective of the campaign
  • Establish the audience
  • Create a hyper targeted campaign
  • Create social media content around the campaign prior, during and after to maximise coverage
  • Report on success of campaign
  • Analyse and review for future campaigns

Exhibition Stand Promotion

The company provides ecommerce software solution to small and medium size retailers across the UK. They attend various shows throughout the year, which have typically yielded good results. But increasingly the competition has grown bigger and it had become harder to stand out from the crowd, so they were looking for ways to improve visibility prior, during and after the event.

Our Approach

We worked with the client to understand their business and agree upon what areas of their software solution could be used to raise their marketing profile at the event. We researched the competition and looked at what others were doing to promote their stand, largely most were doing basic social posts with no real focus other than ‘see you at the show’.

Outcome: During our research, we discovered there was an opportunity to work with the event organisers to establish a competition along with our client sponsoring an award which was to be presented at a specific ceremony during the exhibition. This provided huge benefits to our client, as the event organiser was all helping to promote their stand. Social media engagement leading up to the event and joint promotion by the organisers yielded great engagement and raised the clients profile at the show.  Additionally we attended the event to take pictures and video to create engaging content for future social campaigns.

What we did

  • Establish the objective of the campaign
  • Establish the audience
  • Create a hyper targeted campaign
  • Work with event organiser for cross promotion
  • Attend event to capture visual content and video.
  • Create social media content around the campaign prior, during and after to maximise coverage
  • Report on success of campaign
  • Analyse and review for future campaigns

New Product Launch

A company was launching a new product, they had an established client base and they wanted to maximise the promotion. They were keen to reach not only existing customers but attract new customers too.

Our Approach

We first establish the clients’ market sector and customer base. We got to grips with fully understanding the product being launched and how this would place itself within the market. We looked at possible competitors and brainstormed ways to stand out from the competition.

Outcome: During our research we established that the campaign was better suited to targeting just existing customers. As trying to reach new customers at the same time would dilute the campaign and potentially risk the success of a more hyper targeted campaign. There was an existing newsletter database that was being under utilised, so we agreed upon creating a competition around the new product launch. The competition was based around ‘give this product a name’ the winner of which would receive the product for free, and all other entries received a discounted launch offer. The campaign ran via newsletter and across social media during a 6 month period, driving traffic to a stand alone hyper targeted microsite.

What we did

  • Establish the objective of the campaign
  • Establish the audience
  • Create a hyper targeted campaign
  • Create a targeted microsite to capture competition entries
  • Create social media content around the campaign prior, during and after to maximise coverage
  • Report on success of campaign
  • Analyse and review for future campaigns

Organised Event

A large annual event organiser that brings together over 100 independent trade stands, along with entertainment and food halls. Each year the promotion starts early for the event which is held in May. With so many things going on, their website has a lot to cover and this stretches their marketing budget quite thinly. But footfall each year has been dropping so they were keen to look at new ways to increase visitor numbers.

Our Approach

We sat down with the event organiser to see what areas of the show could bring the most interest. Along with looking at demographics to understand which audience we could appeal to the most. During our initial research we established there was an opportunity to market to a specific demographic, that being the motorcycling community.

Outcome:  By offering preferential undercover parking, free storage of helmets and clothing and a discounted entry fee, we were able to utilise social media to target specific biking communities and run hyper targeted ad campaigns. A stand alone hyper targeted microsite was created and run for 6 months focusing specifically on the biker community and the discounted entry offer. A specific 0800 number was used in all promotion to track customer engagement.

What we did

  • Establish the objective of the campaign
  • Establish a demographic that could be targeted
  • Create a hyper targeted campaign
  • Create a hyper targeted microsite
  • Attend event to capture visual content and video.
  • Create social media content around the campaign prior, during and after to maximise coverage
  • Report on success of campaign
  • Analyse and review for future campaigns

Manage Social Media for a Small Business

sClient: A local craft business has been running a successfully for many years. The owner knows he should be doing more socially online but is busy running her business and just can’t find the time to keep on top of the marketing.

Our Approach

We first set out to understand her business and the type of clients she works for. We look at what existing content; text and images exist to see whether we can build a ‘portfolio’ of material to call upon for social media use. We also look at ways of helping the client create more content that can benefit the campaign.

Outcome: We ensured the social networks were setup correctly and all connected to make best use of any cross network linking. We then created short form content including written content and graphics, along with relevant hashtags. The content was refreshed and posted to Twitter, Instagram and Facebook on a regular basis throughout a 6 month period, then reviewed to establish its success and to plan future social posts.

What we did

  • Meet with the owner to the business
  • Establish the target audience
  • Create and implement a social media campaign using Instagram, Twitter and Facebook
  • Report on success of campaign
